What Happens on comp day

WHAT HAPPENS ON COMP DAY

MEET TIME

It is super important to arrive ON TIME to meet your coach. We will need to individually registered each athlete on the day, so it is essential that you are on-time. We can then take our athletes to check in and collect wristband before commencing a short training session and then heading back stage for warm up.

MEET LOCATION
Athletes are to now meet their coach outside the convention centre, under the freeway overpass, There is a grass area and it is near the escalators heading up to the Convention Centre. Please see no. 2 as shown on the map and in the videos below. You can drop athletes off with their Meet Coach and you'll next see them on the competition floor!

COLLECTING ATHLETES

Immediately after each team performs, we will watch a replay of their performance, collect bags and head outside the halls into the foyer.
Parents must sign out athletes with our staff. Please do not take them whilst we're still inside the hall.

PREPARING FOR COMP

PACK YOUR BAG

Ensure you have your uniform or costumes washed and ready at least 2 days prior to comp. Pack your bag at least 1 day before comp. This way you have time to deal with any issues that may arise i.e. missing items. Please use the checklist below to ensure you have everything packed.

PLAN YOUR DAY
Check your team's Meet Time and Meet Coach.

Work out the time required for travel, getting ready, waking up, etc. Set alarms if this helps you.

Purchase spectator tickets and pre-paid parking.

Check the maps for locations to drop off and collect athletes.
At Comp check your athlete collect times for after they perform and for Awards

TANNING

For older athletes, we recommend a spray tan or applying self-tan but preferably only to exposed skin areas. If you choose to tan, please ensure it’s done at least 2 days before the competition to avoid staining your white uniforms.

NAILS

Nails need to be cut short so that when facing palm up no nail is visible. NO NAIL POLISH PLEASE!

JEWELLERY

Jewellery MUST be removed before arriving at the competition. If you’re worried about having your jewellery out that early, it MUST be removed before heading to warm up. It is a requirement of the Event Provider that all jewellery is removed and not taped. This is for the safety of all athletes on the floor and can also mean a deduction in points. It cannot be given to the coach for minding so please ensure you have a bag.

BODY LOTION/MOISTURISER
Cheer athletes must not moisturise on the day of competition as it will make your skin slippery and difficult to grip (especially flyers).
