The Shire Elite Look

Looking your best on competition day boosts confidence and helps athletes feel ready to perform. At Shire Elite, we take pride in presenting a neat and professional image — a polished look genuinely makes a difference to how athletes feel when they step on the mat. This guide is the standard for all events.

Most commonly Missed
All jewellery removed — including small earrings
No nail polish, nails trimmed short
No body lotion or moisturiser on the morning
Hair accessory visible from the front
Hair

High, slick, neat ponytail. Straighteners are fine; use gel or hairspray to lock down flyaways. Hair accessory must be visible from the front.

Makeup

Optional. If worn, keep it minimal — mascara, light blush, tidy brows, neutral eyes and lips.

Shoes & Socks

Clean cheer shoes and white ankle socks. Double-check shoes are packed the night before — they're the most-forgotten item.

Jewellery

All jewellery must be removed before arriving — it can't be taped over. Leaving it on can cost the team deductions

Nails

Cut short — no nail visible when palms face up. No polish.

Tanning & Skin

Tanning is optional — apply to exposed areas two days before. Skip body lotion on the morning; it can makes skin slippery.
