Comp Checklist
Please read this first to ensure you are prepared and ready BEFORE comp day.
What to do BEFORE comp

Check Meet Time & set alarm to leave

Book spectator tickets for correct day

Book parking for the correct day

Try on uniform for size. It can only be swapped BEFORE it has been worn.

Ensure all items are ready 2 days prior

Remove nail polish and trim nails

If tanning, do this 1 - 2 days prior

Set alarm for time to leave for comp

Pack a bag: Water, Snacks, Lipstick, charger, hairspray, brush & elastics.
What to do ON COMP DAY

Remove ALL jewellery! No exceptions

Have a nutritious snack/meal

Pack bag: water, snacks, lipstick

You must be ON TIME! Allow ample time to travel, park and walk to Meet location.

Follow our guide for hair and make-up

Dress in your costume/uniform

Wear Shire Elite or plain back jacket/hoodie.

What happens on Comp day
MEET TIMES
It is super important to arrive ON TIME to meet your coach.
To ensure our athletes are super prepared, we run a short training session 30 minutes before heading to warmup.
ATHLETE DROP OFF
Parents: Leave your athletes with their Meet Coach and get a coffee. You'll see them on the competition floor soon!
COLLECTING ATHLETES
After they perform, athletes watch a replay, collect their bags and head to the Meet Location.
Parents must sign out athletes with our staff. Please do not take them whilst we're still inside the hall.
WHERE TO MEET & COLLECT ATHLETES
Our Meet and Collection Point is outside Hall 4. Please see no. 2 on the map below. The Meet and Collection staff will be in grey STAFF merch and are listed on the Schedule.
AWARD PRESENTATIONS
Awards presentation is so much fun and super exciting. Please be at the Meet Location for Awards (see times on Schedule). Parents can head to the stands to watch awards. If our teams place 1st, 2nd or 3rd, coaches will select an athlete to receive a trophy or banner and medals given to all athletes.
WHAT TO WEAR TO COMP
Athletes must arrive at your Meet Time in full cheer uniform or dance costume with your Shire Elite Club T-shirt or jacket/hoodie. Hair & makeup must be done with ALL jewellery must be removed!

We take pride in our reputation as a friendly and welcoming club, so let's show everyone what we're made of!
Here are a few helpful tips to keep in mind:

Seating: We encourage our families to sit together and support all of our teams. You're welcome to post where you're seated in our SE Fam group. Seats cannot be held for anyone.

Photos & videos: Please take as many photos and videos of your own children as you like. Just be sure to turn off your flash. If you post them on Instagram or Facebook, please tag us @shireelitecheer and we'll share them to our stories!

Etiquette: Please DO NOT enter or leave the seating area during performances. It's distracting to teams performing and inconsiderate to other families. Lastly, please take any rubbish with you.
Don't forget this is all-star cheer, so loud cheering and applause is highly encouraged! 🌟

Make up is preferred but optional. Some mascara, light blush and tidy brows is ideal.

Remove ALL jewellery:
Jewellery must be removed for safety and can result in a deduction. It cannot be given to the coach.

Hair
Very high, slick, straightened ponytail. No waves or curls!
Use straightening irons to straighten hair. Use gel or hair spray so there are no flyaway strands.
Add yellow scrunchie, ensure it can be seen from front on.

Makeup
Heavier application for stage lights. Use a neutral eye palette, blush, black liner, mascara or fake lashes. Define eyebrows for a polished look. Shire Elite Red lipstick to finish.
